Ecclesiastes 3:11 NKJV — ""He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end."
When Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus that Lazarus was sick, the message they sent carried an urgency that is hard to miss. Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.
Mark 11:22 NKJV — ""Have faith in God.""
There is a difference between a question and a doubt. A question seeks an answer. A doubt displaces the answer before it arrives. Jesus is speaking to the second one. He is saying, when you pray, do not let what you see override what you believe God has said.
Romans 8:28 NKJV — ""And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.""
Paul wrote Philippians from a prison cell. It was not a quiet season of waiting or a period of uncertainty where the outcome was unclear but the circumstances were manageable.
Numbers 23:19 (NKJV) — ""God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?""
Why have you been treating God like a person who might change his mind? Perhaps, you did not do this consciously nor deliberately, but somewhere underneath all the praying and the waiting, there is an assumption that if enough time passes, He might reconsider your prayer requests and answer them.
John 14:16 (NKJV) — ""And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.""
You have not told the person who was close to you how much you miss them. Not because you are not allowed to, but because you are not entirely sure how to explain it to them.
Matthew 17:20 (NKJV) — ""If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.""
God never said you need to have an impressive faith but that little faith of yours needs to be backed by action. That single line rewrites everything most people believe about why their prayers feel unanswered and why their mountains stay standing.
Exodus 14:13-14 NKJV — ""Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.""
God never told you the sea would not be in your way, rather He told you it would part into two. That distinction matters more because the problem with standing at your Red Sea is that all you can see is the sea in front of you, the army right behind you, and the people around you who have started to lose their faith.

Israel had barely left Egypt when Pharaoh changed his mind. The man who had watched ten plagues devastate his nation, who had buried his firstborn son, who had personally told Moses to take the people and go, he changed his mind.
Esther 4:13-14 NKJV — ""Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king's palace any more than all the other Jews. For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?""
Nobody warned Esther nor sat her down to explain what the next few years would look like when she walked through the palace gates. One day she was an ordinary Jewish girl living under the roof of her older cousin. The next, she was queen of Persia.
John 10:1–5 (NKJV) — ""Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.""
There is a young boy in the Bible who teaches us more about learning God's voice than almost anyone else. His name is Samuel, and his story is honest in a way that should bring enormous comfort to anyone who has ever confused their own thoughts with God's voice.
Genesis 32:24-26 (NKJV) — ""Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob's hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, 'Let Me go, for the day breaks.' But he said, 'I will not let You go unless You bless me!'""
There are things God releases only in the wrestling. Not because He is withholding them to be cruel, but because some blessings are only given to people who have decided they want them badly enough to stay in the fight.
Luke 1:37 (NKJV) — ""For with God nothing will be impossible.""
Angel Gabriel spoke those words to a teenage girl who had just been told she was going to carry the Son of God. Mary had not made this request. She had not petitioned heaven with such a bold prayer.
Genesis 41:14 NKJV — ""Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh.""
When God moves, the restoration He brings is so complete and so sudden that the people receiving it feel like they must be dreaming. That is a description of how God works when the fullness of His timing finally arrives.
Genesis 40:14 NKJV — ""But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house.""
He said he would put in a word. He had seen what you were capable of, watched you work with the kind of clarity and faithfulness that does not go unnoticed, and when the moment came he told you he would remember you.
Genesis 39:20 NKJV — ""So it was, when his master heard the words which his wife spoke to him, saying, "Your servant did to me after this manner," that his anger was aroused. Then Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison.""
It is a Friday morning and nothing seem to have changed. The same inbox with no replies, the same situation with no way out, the same prayers going up and the same silence coming back down.
Genesis 37:28 NKJV — ""Then Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they brought Joseph to Egypt.""
Twenty pieces of silver was what Joseph's brothers decided he was worth to them. He was not a stranger, neither was he an enemy to them. Betrayal from an enemy is painful, but betrayal from someone who knows you is something that settles into a different part of you entirely
Genesis 50:20 (NKJV) — ""But as for you, you thought evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.""
Some stories are too painful to have made sense while they were happening. Joseph's brothers stripped him of his favourite coat, threw him into a pit, and sold him into slavery, all before he turned eighteen.
Deuteronomy 2:7 NKJV — "“For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He knows your trudging through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, you have lacked nothing.”"
You may not have been told by anybody that following God could lead you somewhere this quiet and this dry
Mark 9:24 (NKJV) — ""Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!""
There is a father in Mark 9 who brought his son to Jesus after years of watching him suffer with no relief in sight. When Jesus told him that all things are possible to him who believes, the man's response was not a confident declaration. It was something far more honest.
Genesis 12:1 (NKJV) — ""Now the Lord had said to Abram, get out of your country, from your family and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you.""
In Part 1 we said something that might still feel hard to fully accept. Starting over is not proof that you failed. It is often proof that God is calling you somewhere new, but knowing that in your head and knowing what to actually do with your hands are two very different things.
Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV) — ""Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.""
Starting over has a particular kind of weight to it. It does not just feel like a loss but an evidence. Evidence that you made the wrong choices, that you missed something, that the people who doubted you were right all along.
Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) — "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"
You have been praying, reading your Bible, going to church, doing all the things you were told to do as a believer, and yet somewhere along the way, your dreams stopped feeling alive.
2 Kings 7:1 NKJV — ""Then Elisha said, Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.""
Do you know there is something about waiting that does something to you? It is not the brief kind of waiting, like a few minutes for a reply or a few days for a result. The deep kind, that kind where months turn into years, where you have prayed the same prayer so many times that you can barely bring yourself to say it again.
Job 3:11 — ""Why did I not die at birth? Why did I not perish when I came from the womb?”"
You have heard all the right things from all the right people and not one word of it has landed. You have prayed and felt nothing. You have waited and received nothing and somewhere along the way, you stopped being angry about it.
Isaiah 43:2 — ""When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.""
You stopped answering your phone a few weeks ago not because anything dramatic happened neither was it because there was one big moment you could point to. You just got tired. Tired of pretending things were fine when actually they were not.
1 Kings 19:4 — ""It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!""
Nobody around you knew that you kept going to work, answering messages, laughing at the right moments, looking completely fine on the outside but somewhere in the quiet, when the weight of everything became too heavy to carry, you folded your hands or bowed your head and asked God to take you. Not in anger or rebellion but you were just completely tired of life.
Genesis 39:2 NKJV — ""The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.""
You remember the day it hit you. The day the idea that felt too big to ignore, the vision that kept you awake all night, the dream that made you feel like may be, just may be, you were made for something purposeful.
Matthew 24:44 — "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."
You know that feeling when your phone buzzes and it is a message that says "I am five minutes away," but you are still in your pyjamas, the place is a mess, and you thought you had more time?
Luke 19:10 — "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."
Have you ever sat in a room full of people and felt completely alone? Not because no one was there but because you were carrying something so heavy and so private that you could not imagine saying it out loud to any of them.

Think about the last time life knocked you completely flat. Not just a rough afternoon but a real season. The kind where you wake up and the very first thought that arrives before your feet even touch the floor is something like, here we go again.
Genesis 3:1 — "Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, 'Did God really say, you must not eat from any tree in the garden?"
There is a voice that shows up at the worst possible moments of your life. It tends to arrive at a time when you cannot sleep, or in the middle of a day
Matthew 7:7 to 8 — "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."
There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from carrying something heavy for a long time without telling anyone.

There are seasons in life that feel less like seasons and more like furnaces. You did not choose them neither did you see them coming.
Jeremiah 29:13 — "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
When we feel behind, the world offers successful people’s formulas. Hard work and discipline matter, but only genuinely seeking God and finding Him gives the real answer and peace.
Matthew 17:20 — "Nothing will be impossible for you."
You have watched others get their breakthrough and quietly wondered — what about me? The mountain is still there. But so is the God who moves it.
Habakkuk 2:3 — "Though it tarries, wait for it; it will surely come."
You were going to be further along by now. The waiting is starting to feel less like a season and more like a sentence. A delay is not a denial.
